The Burns an' a' that! Festival is an annual tribute to Scotland's internationally acclaimed poet Robert Burns. In 2013 the festival will celebrate both its twelfth anniversary and The Year of Natural Scotland with a special 'Weekend in the Park' celebration at Belleisle Park, Ayr (Sat 25 & Sun 26 May). Join us for an amazing line-up of live music, visual and performance art, family entertainment, food and drink and much more! The festival begins with a special FESTIVAL FRIDAY (Fri 24 May) launch in Ayr Town Centre where you can find out all about the weekend ahead and get a taste for some of the treats on offer. The weekend completes with a brilliant FESTIVAL FINALE gig in our live music tent where Justin Currie (ex Del Amitri) will perform tracks from his solo and band career. Justin will be supported by Rachel Sermanni. Tickets are priced £15. Bring your friends, bring a picnic and join us for an unforgettable weekend packed full of unique surprises! The award-winning Stewarton Drama Group present two performances of "AN EVENING OF COMEDY & DRAMA" on Friday 24th & Saturday 25th May 2013 at 7.30pm in the theatre in the Stewarton Area Centre, Avenue Street, Stewarton, East Ayrshire, KA3 5AP. The production will feature performances of two one-act plays with a strong theme of relationships running through each play: ‘Waste Management’ - a comedy / drama by Nancy McPherson, and ‘The Stanley Parkers’ – a poignant drama by Geraldine Aron. On Saturday 1st June Third Degree Burns will return to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway. Featuring a daytime programme of live music, music workshops and activities the event features a sterling line up of music and poetry in the evening in the lovely setting of the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Last year was a great success and I'm really looking forward to this years event. We have so much great talent performing for you and it really will be a great evening. Performing interpretations of the works of Robert Burns as well as original material on the night we have the Paul McKenna Band, Macanta, Colin Hunter, Gerry Cambridge and Pauline Alexander. I'll be joined by the superb talents of Alan Frew and Milla Crann which I'm really looking forward to. Third Degree Burns is a non-profit motivated event promoting social community involvement and promotion of Burns through engaging with a wide range of the community. It promotes tourism, local and wider social inclusion, education and artistic development. Tickets are available now from the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and from Ticketmaster. Food and licensed bar available, all ages welcome.
