Troon Scouts celebrate 100 years of Scouting in the USA

A Patrol of 8 Scouts and 2 Leaders from the (28th Ayrshire (Troon)) Group have been selected to participate in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) National Jamboree in July 2010. It will be an historic event as it is celebrating 100 years of Scouting in the USA ...
The Troon Group will be the only Scouts from Scotland and will be making up one third of the UK Contingent, therefore we are very honoured and extremely privileged to represent our Country and UK Scouting.
The Jamboree will have over 45,000 Scouts on site (Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, Virginia). Including Leaders and Day Visitors this number swells to over 100,000. President Obama will be visiting the Jamboree as will many other VIPs and dignitaries, such is the importance of this event to America.
We wish our Troon Scouts a very rewarding trip!
