Transport yourself back 250 years in history to the time and place where Rabbie was born ...
Enjoy a sprinkling of nostalgia throughout your day and reminisce as the birth of the bard is remembered in Burns Cottage. Enjoy some historical street theatre and accoustic music or record your day with a sketch from our street artist. Take part in some traditional shopping and relax with some tempting food and drink at the Poet's Corner or Tam O Shanter Experience. Don't miss the excitement of the Tam O Shanter Rant, starting at the Tam O Shanter Inn, High Street Ayr and heading through the streets of Alloway before arriving at the Tam O Shanter Experience. Take a horse and cart trip to the Tam O Shanter experience or visit the brand new 'A Star is Born' exhibition at Rozelle House. This special Homecoming event celebrating the birth of Rabbie Burns truly brings it home, to Rabbie's home in Alloway 1759.

Costumed characters from 1759 take to the streets. Look out for our bell ringer, shopkeepers and more. Alloway Burns Club members will also perform Burns' work and provide information at historical landmarke including the Brig O' Doon, The auld Kirk, Burns Monument, Burns Cottage and Alloway Parish Church.
